Back in the day (60s,70s) the food in the midwest was BLAND. About the only thing that had a kick to it was Mexican - not that Taco Bell crap. So kinda got hooked on it and still eat a lot - fav is chicken enchiladas mole (dark mole w chocolate) with a bowl of pickled sliced carrots/jalapenos. And of course sides of rice and refried beans with sour cream and hot fresh salsa. I don't try to cook it :) just eat it ❤ ˜‹❤ ˜‹

I would like that as well. Hope all is well in UK. Coupla days ago, a tornado came thru here. I didn't even know it happened - was focused on working on BFTS on my PC. Had power failure, lights went off, but UPSs kicked in and PC, monitors, TV etc sailed right thru it, so I kept working. Generator kicked in, lights came back on, and a coupla mins later Comed must have come back on, cuz generator shut down. Had CBS news/weather on TV, so looked over to see big red blotches right here on radar. A few minutes later, Denise called to see if I was ok, said I had a tornado in my back yard ❤ ˜‚❤❤ . Told her "Oh that must have been what caused the power failure- and all is ok here". Saw on CBS that Chgo metro was getting cluster-bombed with tornadoes - 11 total. Had CBS news saved on DVR so got it to PC today and edited it. I'm in Indian Head Park, small village (pop. about 3000). Next town over is Burr Ridge, and am close to Countryside, McCook, Lyons, Hodgkins - all mentioned by CBS reporters. See more at http://video.transgalaxy.com/CBS/. A few months ago I got humane mousetraps from Home Depot. They have been notoriously unsuccessful. Dunno if it was baits (peanut butter), placement, design, or something else. When I went back downstairs, another victim was running around, so waited holding the string, got #14 and took him/her outside- not bad for the first day :) :) Shortly thereafter, another went scooting by, so reset trap and waited again. we're going out - Lois is a PICKY eater - everything has to be "heart-healthy". We all favor Thai, Szechuan, etc but they're all closed on Mondays around here. So going to Willow Hills right down the street from me. She checked the menu online and saw they had broiled fish and steamed veggies, so she's ok with that for her and Peter. I'll get a hot roast beef sandwich with mashed & gravy and a side of ranch or bleu cheese dressing . My tradition with that is to slice it all up into tiny pieces, smoosh it all together, dump on the dressing, add a SEVERE dose of black pepper (I unscrew the cap from the shaker) and then mix everything into a big sloppy mess. She thinks it's disgusting ❤❤❤ ˜‚❤ ¤£

I know nothing about it except what I've seen in movies - particularly "W" starring Josh Brolin as George W. Bush - in his younger days he worked on an oil rig - didn't work out so well for him ❤❤❤ ¤£❤ ¥² My sis Lois got her MBA from U of Chgo and subsequently spent her whole career at Amoco Minerals. That's how she met hubby Peter (orig an Aussie from Melbourne). She was managing a mining project in New Guinea and he was there as a software consultant.
